AEDC Photo# 67-2072
AEDC'S EXHAUSTER capacities and large continuous supply of conditioned air allow large air flow engines like this TF-39 high by-pass turbofan to be tested at simulated altitudes from 15,000 to 40,000 feet. Precise measurement of engine performance is obtained over nearly the entire airplane (C-5) flight map. Engine fuel temperature is adjusted to simulate extended operations at various flight regimes.
