AEDC PHOTO # 90-51905
Some of the dozens of different store models used during wind tunnel testing of the F-15E dual-role fighter aircraft at the AEDC are shown in this photo. Store separation testing, using five percent scale models, has been ongoing at AEDC, since 1985. In all, more than 500 aircraft/store configurations have been investigated to ensure that the F-15E can safely deliver the wide array of weapons needed to accomplish its air-to-ground and air-to-air missions. The testing program, being accomplished as part of the SEEK Eagle weapons certification program, is sponsored by the Aeronautical Systems Division, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office at Eglin AFB, Fla.
