B-52 -- A lead mechanic, at U.S. Air Force's Arnold Engineering Development Center's (AEDC) Aeropropulsion Systems Test facility (ASTF), discusses a testing of the TF33 engine which powers the B-52 Stratofortess and KC-135 Strotofortess with a KC-135E pilot for the Alaska Air National Guard's 168th Air Refueling Wing, at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. This test was conducted in 1995 to baseline the engine's cold weather starting capability and range performance with the then new
JP-8 jet fuel. The TF33 is used on the B-52H, C-141's and many of the C/KC-135 models. The test was performed for the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.
